For the first time, Epic Swing Night will fly in super-duper, world-renowned lindy hoppers to teach the workshop classes! Stefan Durham and Bethany Powell, two of the most beloved lindy hoppers in the world, continue to cultivate a unique style born from a kind of pure inspiration and love for not only appreciation of Lindy Hop's amazing legacy, but the spirit of improvisation and interpretation of the music from which it came in the first place. It will be Duke Ellington's birthday on April 29th so we will celebrate with another jazz lecture by Alisa Clancy from 91.1 KCSM! For Ellington's birth month the topic will be "An Ellington Birthday Party!"
Epic Swing Night proudly presents Macy Blackman and the Mighty Fines! They have been rocking the house recently at Cat's Corner in San Francisco and we can't wait to hear more of their unique amalgamation of New Orleans Jazz and 50s R&B on our newly warmed floor at the San Mateo Masonic Lodge.
